Project 2 - Final... The Hive

In the Hive I've added Dark spires to be considered as the planet's minerals, which is the creatures source of food. It's only available in this area, which the creature made home.
I've also added mud, to add a sense of life.
The pipe like objects are the hole which the creature bury themselves in to rest. The inorganic look gives the sense of the creature's intelligence to design.

I've added some emitter to the entrance of this area, to act like a wind tunnel.

Project 2 - Continue..... The Terrain

The Skybox is then added, which I've experimented with a few but have picked what I thought was best.
I've decided to go with the 1st person view to give the player a closer experience in the environment. Because at 3rd person you can not fully appreciate the bumpy and overwhelming surface of the terrain.

Project 2 - Continue.... United with Unity
Straight away Unity taunts. My characters will either falls through the ground or the dam platform keeps falling with me.
But through my determination I've fixed this problem with the physics Mesh Collision.
I've also changed the lighting to make the environment feel darker and out of this world.

Project 2 - Continue.. (height map) wiith Photoshop

Carefully listening to Kah in the lap, I have created some height map in Photoshop to be imported in to Blender.
After roughly drawing on the layout of the terrain, I've used the smudge tool to blend together the black area with the white so the landscape will look more organic.
After the smudging I've also blurred the image to take care of the part that I've missed.

Project 2 - Diablo 2 Environment

One of my greatest childhood game. Many hours I've spent on these randomly generated environment. Venturing through the fog of war that slowly reveals itself as you advance through the quests.
The environment changes through each act as your character chase down the Three Lords of hell, each separated by 5 acts (including the expansion). Like the level itself the items and objects are randomly generated, increasing the replay value. Some people spend hours killing the demons of hell just to find the item they are looking for.

Proposal
Story
In a not so near future, after discovering a new habitable planet similar to our own, scientists have decided to send in a team to explore the planet. After declaring the desert planet safe and habitable, they were going to return home.
But the Space Scout 04 was never heard from again. They were meant to have arrived on Pluto Space Station 3 weeks ago. The first Reconnaissance Team were dispatched and have yet to find any trace of the Space Scout 04.
Now as per protocol, the Military Special Force must get involved. You are part of the team that must find out what had happened to Space Scout 04 and do anything possible to bring them back.
Game Core
It a 3rd person shooter in an arcade style game. As a Special Military Officer you must fight your way through the desert environment against bug like creature that can camouflage itself in this harsh terrain.
